2007-2008 Fellows
In September 2007, the Ash Institute created the Roy and Lila Ash Fellowship in Democracy for incoming Kennedy School students. Selected from a pool of 80 applicants representing 43 different countries, the 2007-2008 recipients were:
- Zulfiquar Haider, India: Haider is a career development professional most recently working in Afghanistan for an international NGO.
- Cecilia Barja Chamas, Bolivia: Barja Chamas founded a national political party and was elected to political office in the capital of La Paz.
