Maurice Gerard Morton is from Detroit, MI. Morton received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his Jurist Doctorate from the School of Law at Wayne State University. Morton served as Chief of Special Operations for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. He created, developed and managed some of the most innovative and effective crime fighting and prevention strategies, programs and initiatives ever utilized in the prosecutor’s office. Most recently, Morton served as Associate General Counsel and Director of Community and Governmental Affairs for The Detroit Medical Center (DMC). His responsibilities included collaborating closely with local governments in the DMC service area, as well as working to educate the community on various health concerns and on the medical center’s value-added services. Maurice’s interests include public service and leadership. He hopes to one day serve his community through political office targeting crime reducing initiatives, strengthening educational opportunities, and improving quality of life. |
