Marty Mauzy is the Executive Director of the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Prior to joining the Institute, she worked at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. During her tenure at Radcliffe, she served as Executive Director of the Henry A. Murray Research Center for the Study of Lives and as Assistant Dean to Radcliffe's Dean Drew Faust.
Before coming to the Radcliffe Institute, Marty was Deputy Director of the Institute on the Arts & Civic Dialogue at Harvard, founded and directed by actress and playwright Anna Deavere Smith. Before leaving to work for Ms. Smith, she worked for many years at the Murray Center at Radcliffe College, most recently as Acting Director. She has been Director of Community Programs at the Cambridge City Arts Council, Manager of Boston's First Night, and worked in the State of Massachusetts Model Cities Program and the State of Massachusetts Bureau of Equal Educational Opportunity. Marty did her undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania in English Literature and also holds a Master's Degree in Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
