Research Manager for the Crisis Leadership Program

David Giles is the Research Manager for the Harvard Kennedy School’s Program on Crisis Leadership. In this capacity he conducts research and writes on a range of issues relating to crisis events and high-risk hazards. In collaboration with Arnold Howitt and Dutch Leonard, he co-edited the 2009 textbook Managing Crises: Responses to Large-Scale Emergencies. Before coming to the Kennedy School, he worked at the Institute of Medicine, a division of the National Academies in Washington, DC, where he conducted research and contributed to several reports concerning public health emergency preparedness. David also served as an NGO Development Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Romania. He received his MA from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and his B.A. from Vassar College. |
