Sandford Borins is the author of Innovating with Integrity: How Local Heroes are Transforming American Government (Georgetown University Press, 1998), a comprehensive study of government innovation that used as its database a large sample of applications from the Innovations in American Government Awards program, and more recently as the editor of Innovations in Government: Research, Recognition, and Replication (Brookings, 2008), a collection of articles, many by HKS faculty, on innovation research. In his capacity as a research fellow, he will organize a faculty seminar on understanding the dissemination and replication of innovations and pursue his research on narratives about innovation.
