Jorrit de Jong is a resident research fellow at the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School. His research, teaching, and consultancy work focus on innovations in governance and situated problem solving. De Jong is the former director of the Centre for Government Studies at Leiden University, the Netherlands. He is the cofounder of the Kafka Brigade, an action research team investigating excessive bureaucracy. He served as a special adviser on the Dutch Ministerial Committee on public sector reform. A specialist in simulations games, De Jong has developed and taught many international executive education programs. He co-edited and co-authored The State of Access (with Gowher Rizvi; Brookings Institution Press, 2008) and is now working on the book on Innovations in Social Justice.
